Welcome

A Word from the Organizers

Dear researchers, professors, students, and international guests,

It is with great pleasure and honor that the Organizing Committee welcomes you to the XIX Pan American Nursing Research Colloquium. Bringing together brilliant and creative minds from different parts of the world to discuss the theme Nursing Research and Implementation Science: Sustainable Solutions to Strengthen the Workforce and Health Systems is a privilege that reaffirms our ethical and political commitment to nursing, science, education, and the internationalization of knowledge.

We are especially proud to host this important event for the second time. The Colloquium is a biennial event organized by PANMCC and, in 2026, will be hosted by the PAHO/WHO Collaborating Centre for Nursing Research Development of the University of São Paulo at Ribeirão Preto College of Nursing. Its program includes two major components: the pre-colloquium activities, which include workshops and meetings of nursing networks; and the main event, consisting of keynote lectures, roundtables, and research presentations that will address the theme from the perspective of nursing and its contributions to other areas of health and to science.

The XIX Pan-American Nursing Research Colloquium is committed to promoting an inclusive, safe and welcoming environment for all individuals. It is grounded in respect for human dignity and in the appreciation of diversity and equity. Therefore, an atmosphere of respect, courtesy, constructive dialogue, and inclusion is expected.

During these days, we hope this space will serve as a fertile environment for rigorous debate, the exchange of experiences, and the strengthening of nursing at both national and international levels.

We thank each of you for your presence and wish you an extremely productive and inspiring event. Welcome to the University of São Paulo at Ribeirão Preto College of Nursing /PAHO-WHO Collaborating Centre for Nursing Research development!

General Information

Ribeirão Preto is a municipality in the Northeastern region of the state of São Paulo in Brazil and its economy is based on agribusiness and high technology.

The city was founded in 1856 in an agricultural region. Coffee was the main source of income until 1929, when it lost ground to other crops and, especially, to the industrial sector. It is situated 313 km (194 mi) from the city of São Paulo and 706 km (439 mi) from Brasília, the federal capital.

  • For information or help, always look for a police officer or an employee of the company you travelled with. Never talk to strangers. You will find a DEATUR, Tourist Police Station, where professionals have been trained to help you in every airport.
  • Do not leave your belongings unattended. Be aware of people approaching you to ask questions. Maybe they are trying to distract you. When talking to them, keep an eye on your luggage.
  • Do not open your luggage in a public area, mainly if you have electronic equipment and cash inside.
  • Do not handle a high amount of money in public.
  • If you need to use an ATM, check if nobody can see your password. In case of failure of equipment, call an identified employee for help.
  • Do not accept any package from strange people.
  • If someone falls ill and asks you to go for help, do it, but never leave your belongings with such a person. Even if they say you will be faster.
  • When taking a taxi or renting a car, use professional and registered companies.
  • When using a mobile phone while in the taxi, use the device on the opposite side of the window (facing the center of the car).
  • In case of a traffic jam, do not handle too much money in the car.

  • Always keep purses/backpacks close to your body;
